This is a fresh approach to faith and spirituality which may appeal to those who are looking for different ways into finding meaning in their lives. This searching can affect all of us at different times, whether we are regular worshippers at church, "anti- church" or simply had a bad experience of religion sometime in our lives.
Soul Street usually occurs on the fourth Sunday evening of the month, from 8.00pm till around 10.00pm, instead of the usual evening service. It offers a chance for you to relax and chat with friends, to look at faith, spirituality and other important issues about life. There are two slots of music, poetry, readings and visual input based around a central theme for the evening. Themes already explored are Journeys and Discoveries. Further themes include Imagination, Chains, Parachutes and more ...
You will find the church lit to give a soft café type atmosphere. Tea, coffee, cakes and newspapers are available during the evening and there are opportunities for 'chill and chat', between the two creative slots. Our quiet area, 'Space', offers a peaceful place for reflection and a chance to share your thoughts and feelings about what you are experiencing.
Soul Street has been developed from an idea running in Derby called Soul Café. "Soul Street" seemed a natural choice of name for Wade Street. Curious? Intrigued? Come along and join us, see what you think .... our next "Soul Street" dates and themes are:
