More about How to Recruit help

The time is NOW ... and the need is NOW

Scouting has a continuing need for helpers over the whole range of activities, from those with administrative skills, activity and outdoor skills as well as orange and tea making skills.

We also have urgent specific needs as outlined below, NOW.

WE NEED Uniformed Leaders, as well as non-uniformed helpers for specific skills. We need parent involvement to help running the Groups, we need you - now.

We have Groups that are having to keep membership numbers down because of lack of help, and we have boys and girls who want to join, we need help - now.

YOU WILL BE PROVIDED WITH All the training that you may need, and you will be vetted by the police in the interests of the safety of the young people we work with.

We can promise you that it will be fun, as well as a rewarding experience - helping young people aspire to skills, values, and community service at this formative time in their lives. They need you - now.

I would like someone to contact me and give me more information about what I can offer in terms of time and skills for young people.

WHAT IS SCOUTING Scouting is a world wide educational Movement for young people. It contributes to the fulfilment of their potential using a progressive and enjoyable values-based programme for personal development.

Incorporated as a charity by Royal Charter in 1912, The Scout Association in the United Kingdom, seeks to provide young people with opportunities to participate in adventurous outdoor activities, learn team-building skills and develop new friendships.

It is firmly committed to co-education so that boys and girls can develop together and meet the aims of Scouting through one programme.

Membership is open to all young people and adults, regardless of ability, who are prepared to accept Scouting’s fundamental principles. Today, there are over half a million adults and young people enjoying the fun and friendship of Scouting in the United Kingdom.

Scouting is now nearly 100 years old but it has never been static, and as time moves on we have to move with it so that today, we can still represent the interests and needs of young people.

Scouting is about learning for Life with a capital ‘L’. It is about training young people to maximise what they can get out of life, while adopting an ethical code which awakens their interest and responsibility towards the Community and it’s Environment.

If you think that you are the sort of person who can contribute towards those ends, then call us NOW - our young people need you - NOW ...

You can do this by filling in the form above - NOW ...
