Discipleship

House groups are "the place where the ‘ordinary church member’ finds the ministries of the wider church supplemented; the place where Christians are nurtured, disciplined and encouraged to reach out to a lost world." (House groups - Ian Coffee & Stephen Gaukroger)

House groups are essentially the ideal for interaction over the scripture taking its full meaning into our own and others lives and for sharing the joys and sorrows of the Christian life. We do this by:
  • Releasing the Word of God - thus allowing the individual to question, debate and to formulate a reasoned response in the essential movement of becoming both "salt and light"
  • Facilitating Prayer and Freeing Praise
  • Nurturing Fellowship
  • Giving a sense of Gods Family
  • Extending the Kingdom - house groups can form a substantial plank of our carrying out the great commission
  • Active Christianity - house groups as a unit can be asked to run services, and to take on some duties where groups of people may be required e.g. preparing Alpha suppers. It is a resource for the wider body of the Church

House groups are important. If you are not part of one we would urge you to consider joining one. We have groups that meet on different nights and different locations. All will welcome new members.
