Keith Newton

I was brought up in a church going family. I have had a personal faith since I can remember but this was cemented by joining a youth organisation at age of 11 - Crusaders. This established my relationship with Jesus and gave me experience in telling others about Christ and reading the Bible. That faith grew through a strong Christian Union at university, my church life in C of E, Baptist and Methodist fellowships, Crusader youthwork and engaging God in my work and home life.

As an elder I see my part as being to help the church to grow spiritually and in numbers. I have a hope and a desire to see God working in a very visible and powerful way in our church, built from prayer and a desire amongst us to make an impact on our community and to help people see a real God who works in and through their lives. My belief is that we have structurally built some of the foundations for that breakthrough - Ian's leadership, the building, the inclusive fellowship, the emphasis on youth, the prayer warriors we have in the church - now we need to ask the Lord to lead us into the next stage of community & outreach focused work.
